Chinese-date as an important part can be seen everywhere in Chinese dish. There is a saying, eating three Chinese-dates everyday and you’ll keep young forever. As one of the biggest agricultural country in the world, Chinese-date plays a significant role in Chinese history and Chinese culture. Cultural class on this week, we learned culture behind Chinese-date and enjoyed the sweet soup with Chinese-date.
Chinese-date is strong adaptability and is easy to plant in cold and dry climate. It has resistances in drought and humidity area. Fresh Chinese-date tastes crisp, sweet and a little sour. Nourishing of life is the main idea in Chinese cooking culture. People use Chinese-date to make vinegar, juice, alcohol, tea and cake. It is better for your stomach.
